Olakunle Akinboboye, MD, MBA, FACC, MPH, FACP is the first African American to be appointed chairman of the Cardiovascular Disease Board of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the apex organization that maintains oversight on the training and certification of all cardiologists in the United States. In this interview, Dr. Akinboboye speaks on how he achieved this feat, a first in the 81-year history of the organisation and on cardiovascular challenges facing Nigeria.
