We are glad you are here! Your presence lets us know that we are not alone in the fight against heart disease. We encourage community-wide participation in heart disease prevention, education, detection and lifestyle changes that can improve the cardiovascular health status of all communities, especially those with a majority of African Americans residents who remain at higher risk for heart disease and stroke when compared to white Americans.

Events and Programs

ABC’s signature community program is Spirit of the Heart. This program is scheduled in several U.S. cities each year and may consist of a Leadership Forum, a health fair with free screenings, food, music and family fun, and a Message from the Pulpit at a local church. The programs are developed to help consumers understand that heart disease is preventable, and heart healthy practices are important for longevity. This program has made measurable differences in communities nationwide even leading to legislation for health care reform.
